ABET Accreditation Consulting
Assessment Advantage provides the following services:
Self Study Review. The program provides a draft copy of the Self Study in MS Word format to a program specific consultant who will review and provide comments in the document. After returning the commented document, the consultant will conduct a conference/video call with program faculty to clarify/explain the comments. Self Study Reviews typically require 2 weeks to complete. We have the capacity and expertise to review multiple programs simultaneously.
Assist Writing Self Study Reports. Many times programs request help to revise their Self Study Reports to make sure it accomplishes its intent to clearly explain to a program evaluator why the program believes it is in compliance with the criteria. Consultants have the experience to help write the Self Study report so that it is succinct, clear and unambiguous.
Mock Accreditation Visits. Simulating an actual ABET accreditation visit, a team of program specific consultants will visit programs at the institution. A review of the programs' draft self study, interview faculty members and students and visit laboratories and other facilities. At the conclusion of the visit, a verbal out brief is provided to the programs at the institution not only identifying apparent shortcomings, but also providing recommendations on how to resolve them. A written consulting report is provided approximately two weeks after the team's departure.
Assessment Processes. We can help programs revise or set up initial assessment process so that they are meaningful and sustainable. Often programs establish assessment processes that overburden the faculty and do not provide results that can be used for meaningful program improvement.
Workshops. Workshops can be provided to faculty at institutions in the areas of assessment processes, Self Study Report writing and ABET accreditation processes. Workshops are hands-on with faculty members participating with exercises to reinforce concepts presented by the consultant. There is no limit to the number of faculty members that may attend. The standard workshop is a two day event.
General Accreditation Consulting. Sometimes, programs request continuing guidance as they prepare for accreditation. Our consultants are able to provide these services remotely or through visits to the program.
